Chris Lopez is the Chief Executive Officer of
MCS. Chris Lopez has in excess of 25 years
experience in the IT industry. After being extensively trained in Canada
and subsequently with IBM Jamaica, Chris began his professional career
with the Bank of Nova Scotia (“BNS”) in their Premier Plaza Data Centre.
At the time that installation was the largest single installation of IBM
Mainframes in the entire Caribbean.
Chris was a part of the systems operations group that ran the data center main frame computers,
and then later joined the software development team that developed the
real-time Demand Deposit Accounting (DDA) Banking Systems that served
all of the branches across the Island. On completion of his term at the
BNS Data Centre, Chris worked with other fledgling IT organizations for 3 years and then,
with the encouragement of his family, Chris decided to launch MegaTron
Ltd in May of 1984. The company was a full service systems integrator
specializing in high availability business systems and solutions based on
UNIX. During the first 15 years of business MegaTron installed the majority of the networks and business
software for retail and wholesale operations across the Cayman Islands,
and provided 7/24 technical and support services. MegaTron Ltd quickly
grew to be a great success and the company became well
known for reliability, integrity and capability.
These same principles are the foundation of our present day Consulting
Practice. In 2002 Chris saw that the Cayman market had needs that
would drive the transformation and re-branding of the company to what is
now MCS. MCS is a pure-play Consulting and Professional Services
Practice that is exclusively contracted by the financial industry and
fiduciary services to provide advanced IT Business Services.
