Voice Over IP & IP Telephony

Organisations are increasingly finding that telephony costs are increasing as the demand for global commerce and worldwide partnerships or clients is becoming common-place. Often the existing telephony services are based on legacy equipment that demands a high cost of ownership and is very inflexible. The “value-add” of any IPT solution is the “add-on” applications that can deliver enhanced value back to the business, for example:-

  • Speech enabled platform – so users can manage and listen to both their e-mail and voicemail via any telephone whether in the office or remotely.
  • Effective call routing and distribution – this can be based on caller identity and menu options direct calls so that the correct department deals with the call based on language or “self-selection”.
  • Statistics – number of calls received, time taken to answer, number of calls abandoned, average call length etc. This information allows organizations to effectively plan their staff and resources.

Our IPT-VOIP Assessment Service provides a comprehensive audit and analysis of the current infrastructure and develops a business case based on the Return on Investment and enhanced functionality. We employ a scoping workshop approach to establish the critical functionality required by the organization. The output from the workshop is an outline “high-level” design and budgetary cost including the recommended hardware and software including the Call Control Unit, telephone handsets, Voicemail and associated applications. The “goals” of the workshop are to:

  • Understand the current and future requirements and IP Telephony needs
  • Identify the “pain points” present within your infrastructure
  • Identify the “future” based on an IP Telephony / Voice over IP solution
  • Design a cost effective solution that meets your IPT requirements

Once the design is finalized we can rapidly deploy the solution and the “goals” of the deployment are to:

  • Implement a solution that reduces cost and management overhead
  • Implement a solution that adds functionality including emerging technology such as IP Television (IPTV), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Unified Messaging, Voice Recording, Video Conferencing True Mobility, Improved Call routing and IPTV / CCTV over IP
  • Implement “dial-plans” to reduce long distance and international call charges.

MCS is a partner of Cisco systems and is the only partner in the Cayman Islands that holds the Express Unified Communications Specialization for design and deployment of Cisco IP Telephony. We also hold the Express Foundation, VPN Security and Security VPN/Firewall Express Certification and are therefore considered to be the one of the largest and most qualified Cisco partners in the Caribbean region. We have five Cisco certified staff members that include the only Cisco CCIE in the Cayman Islands who is one of only eight in the Caribbean region.
